(Details of the fees mentioned above are inclusive of additional fee of DKK 20.00 levied on all visa, passport and consular services, w.e.f. 01-08-2011.)

Note: Above mentioned visa fees are only for the Danish citizens. For people with other nationalities extra processing fees will be charged.
Employment visa and Business visa fees are country specific. Please get in touch with the Embassy for further information.

Tourist Visa:

  • Description:
    Tourist Visa for a maximum period of six months from date of issue. Tourist visas are non-extendable and non-convertible. Continuous stay in India by getting repeated, back-to-back tourist visas will not be permitted. In case of applications for multiple-entry tourist visas sufficient details/justification should be given.
  • Requirements for issue of Tourist Visa:
    Original Passport (valid for at least four months beyond the validity of visa) 
    One recent Passport size colour "studio" photograph
     
    Visa Application Form duly completed and signed by the Applicant.
    Copy of return air ticket to India. (not applicable for travel document/Alien passport holders)
  • An invitation letter from host in India (an e-mail invitation giving complete name and address and telephone number of the host will also be okay) or details of confirmed hotel booking/s at the places of stay in India (not applicable for travel document/Alien passport holders)
  • Proof of availability of sufficient funds to meet expenses during your stay in India ( letter from the applicant's bank to the effect or a screenshot of your account statement showing the balance in your account will be accepted)
  • Visa fees can be paid by VISA DANKORT at the Visa Counter at the Embassy.  The payment can also be made by bank transfer to Embassy of India, Copenhagen Account No. 4001-11421733.  A proof of payment has to be attached along with the application.

Business Visa:

  • Description:
    Businessmen or Employees of a company representing the company visiting India for the purposes of business are issued Business Visa.
  • Requirements for issue of Business Visa:
    Original Passport
    One recent Passport size colour "studio" photograph.
    Print out of the Online Visa Application Form duly completed and signed by the Applicant. Applicable Visa Fee (payable by visa Dankort at Embassy or by bank transfer).
    A business letter from the Danish company introducing the applicant, stating the purpose of the business visit and undertaking responsibility, including financial, of the person representing the company.
    A letter of invitation from an Indian company should also accompany the Visa Application.
    Generally Business Visas are issued for the duration of the visit only. Business Visas for one year duration are issued on a case to case basis, depending upon the frequency of visits to India.

Transit Visa:

  • Description:
    Persons travelling through India to a third country may apply for Transit Visa. Transit visas are valid for halts of up to 72 hours in India within 15 days from the date of issue of the visa and must be obtained before departure. Transit visas cannot be obtained from immigration counters at port of entry in India. Evidence of onward travel to a third country from India, such as a confirmed air ticket, is required at the time of application.

    One recent Passport size colour "studio" photograph
    Visa Application Form duly completed and signed by the Applicant.
    Applicable Visa Fee.
    Photocopy of the onward journey ticket.

Student Visa:

  • Description:
    Student visas are issued for the duration of the academic course of study or for a period of five years whichever is less, on the basis of firm letters of admission from Universities/ recognised colleges or educational institutions in India. Change of purpose and institutions are not permissible. As processing student visas could take a long time, students applying for visas to study in India are advised to apply well in advance.
  • Requirements for issue of Student Visa:
    Original Passport (valid for at least four months beyond the validity of visa)
    One recent Passport size colour "studio" photograph
    Visa Application Form duly completed and signed by the Applicant.
    Applicable Visa Fee.
    Provisional admission letter from a recognized educational institution in India.
    A letter of financial support from parent / guardian along with a bank guarantee .

Journalist Visa:

  • Description:
    Journalist visas are issued to professional journalists and photographers for visiting India. On some occasions, the applications for Journalist Visas need to be referred to the authorities in India and hence processing time could be long. On obtaining the visa, the journalists are advised to contact on arrival in New Delhi, the External Publicity Division of the Ministry of External Affairs and in other places, the Office of the Government of India's Press Information Bureaus. Journalist visas are issued for a period up to 3 months with single or double entry. Prior approval of the Government of India is required for producing a documentary film/feature film in India. Details may be obtained from the Embassy. As prior approval of the Government of India is required for such visas, applicants are advised to apply well in advance.

Conference Visa:

  • Description:
    Conference visas are issued for attending international conferences/ seminars /meetings in India. Issue of visa is subject to the approval of the Government of India for holding such conferences. As processing of conference visas take longer time, applicants applying for such visas are advised to apply well in advance with full particulars and all necessary documents pertaining to their participation in the conference.
  • Requirements for issue of Conference Visa:
    Original Passport (valid for at least four months beyond the validity of visa)
    One recent Passport size colour "studio" photograph
    Visa Application Form duly completed and signed by the Applicant.
    Applicable Visa Fee.
    A letter of invitation from the organizers of the conference and the details concerning the conference.

Entry Visa: (Visa to Visit Relatives or for Medical Treatment)

  • Requirements for issue of Entry Visa:
    Original Passport (valid for at least four months beyond the validity of visa) 
    One recent Passport size colour "studio" photograph 
    Visa Application Form duly completed and signed by the Applicant.
    Applicable Visa Fee.
    Names and complete addresses of relatives to be visited in India.  Relationship certificate (marriage certificate / birth certificate) in case of family visit.
    Medical Reports / Hospital References in case of medical treatment.

Employment Visa:

  • Description:
    Employment visas are issued to skilled and qualified professionals or persons who are engaged or appointed by companies, organisations, economic undertakings on employment in very senior level or skilled positions. If eligible for an Employment Visa, applicants will be granted a visa only for a maximum of one year initially. Extension, if required, has to be sought in India from the immigration authorities 6 months prior to the expiry of the visa. The Embassy cannot issue an Employment Visa for the second time, for the same position. Registration within 14 days of arrival in India with the Foreigners' Regional Registration Office (FRRO/FRO) is compulsory.
  • Requirements for issue of Employment Visa:
    Original Passport (valid for at least four months beyond the validity of visa)
    One recent Passport size colour "studio" photograph
    Visa Application Form duly completed and signed by the Applicant.
    Applicable Visa Fee.
    A copy of the contract of employment/ engagement signed with the employer in India and a letter regarding the offer of appointment in India and such other document(s) that the Embassy may require.
