All visa enquiries should
preferably be made by email and in English. All telephone enquiries
related to visa should be made only on the telephone nos. 39182888, 39108617,
39108631, and 39108616 from 14.30 to 17.oo p.m. on working days. If
the lines are busy, please be patient and try later.
Since 2007, the Embassy has
discontinued Danish version of its website and this is the only
authentic website (www.indian-embassy.dk).
applications are received at the Embassy between 0930 hrs and 1200
hrs on all working days (i.e., Monday to Friday). Passports
are returned between 1530 hrs. and 1700 hrs. on the given date.

All foreign nationals, including children must have
passport and a visa to enter India. It is not sufficient that
a child is registered in the passport of one of its parents. Visa
cannot be obtained on arrival in India.
In accordance with the rules
and regulations of the Government of India, the Embassy grants visa,
on application, to those intending to visit India for tourist,
business and other purposes.

Applicable Visa fees, one recent passport size photographs and the
passport - valid for at least four months beyond the applied visa
period - should accompany the application.
Visa can be applied for in person or by post at the Embassy of
India, Copenhagen. Visa applications from persons residing in
Denmark but holding Foreign Passport takes longer.
Visa Fees are non-refundable and subject to change.
The Embassy normally requires 2-3 working days to issue Tourist and
Business Visas to Danish nationals, and about one week for others.
For Danish passport holders originating from certain foreign
countries, it takes more time. Applicants are therefore advised to apply for the
Visa well in time.

Visitors to restricted/protected areas need special permits and for
this purpose an additional form has to be completed. Please contact
the Embassy if you wish to ascertain whether any of the places you
intend to visit fall in the category of restricted/protected areas.
Application for the permit, for which an additional fee is levied, has to be submitted in the prescribed form
with the required fee along with
the visa application.
The validity of all types of visa starts from the date of issue.
The Embassy reserves the right to refuse visa without assigning any
Foreign nationals (other than US nationals holding 10 year
tourist/business visas) holding visa for a period of more than 180
days are required to get themselves registered with the concerned
Foreigner's Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within 14 days of
their first arrival in India.
A penal fee of US$ 30.00, over and above the visa fees, will be
charged by the concerned FRRO, in case of non-registration on time
and for overstay in India beyond the validity of visa.
